Ekaterina Kukhareva launched her eponymous knitwear line in 2009 after graduating from Central Saint Martin’s with BA in Textiles in London. Producing unique knitted fabric, this label is known for its luxury hand-made trimmings. A collection of hand worked macramé, crochet, fringing and knotting which add elaborate glamour to the entire collection and make the timeless pieces stand out. Ekaterina Kukhareva collections are aimed at the high end of the luxury market. With gorgeous weaving techniques, unusual shapes, and futuristic patterns, Еkaterina Kukhareva uses both natural fabrics like wool and cotton and synthetic materials like viscose and Lurex. Putting emphasis on her Ukrainian and Russian roots, she has created alluring yet glamorous pieces, perfect for women with demanding sense of style. The new collection’s look is definitely feminine, a! llure and blooming with flower notes. Designer works mostly on creating exquisite textiles, experimenting with colours and silhouettes, making the whole collection suitable for both sophisticated ladies and party-hoppers.

This S/S 2012 Ekaterina’s knitwear collection has all the emphasis on the fabrics. While playing with proportions, yarn materials and weights the collection is also full of brightly coloured flower jacquards, which are the main inspiration of the summer season.

The focus is on ‘Natural’ - Orchids, Sunflowers, Lilies and Chamomiles which are all a reminder of summer. This season Ekaterina embraces the natural beauty of these flowers and through them honoring grace and natural beauty. Flower jacquards, lace knits, hand crocheted details are mixed with weightless viscose. To contrast the soft lines we associate with flowers, also using geometric lines and clashing colours in this summers collection: lime green, neon orange, white, grey, pink and blue. Simple and geometric shapes of the garment are emphasising and underlining the woman’s flawless natural figure with all its curves. Chunky crocheted garments against soft and draped fabrics create the perfect mixture as well as complementing each other and the modern life woman.
