James Monk Features Claire Diamond

Claire’s childhood growing up on a farm in South Derry seen a healthy introduction to music via her ma’s record collection; from Suzi Quatro and Smokie, to Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. Current inspiration includes the likes of American artists Lissie, The Low anthem and Australian folk band The Waifs. Combined with an inevitable passion for traditional Irish and folk music alongside contemporary folk and rock, it would be safe to say her taste in music is varied!

Fate in the form of an artist residency brought Claire to Wolverhampton following her creative studies in London. 3 years as a singer with the lively and popular Wolves based band ‘Barrel o Baddies’ (www.barrelobaddies.webs.com) has stood Claire in good stead for branching out solo, with gigs at a variety of venues including the recent Bridgnorth Music & Arts Festival.
