Let James Monk Introduce you to The Offbeat

♪♫ Midlands Indie Folk four-piece with recognisable fresh sound ♪♫ ~ Handcrafted originals played with a fizz
Description
The hand-crafted sound of this Midlands four-piece delivers a contemporary take on folk music, not only imaginative and experimental but extremely sophisticated.

“...a whole bunch of talent with high hopes for a bright future.”
- LichLive Review

It was the shared desire to explore Roots, Indie, World and Pop music that drew these four talented musicians together in 2010. They have since embarked on a creative journey which has so far produced a delicate musical interplay capable of creating something evocative and subtle whilst keeping its recognisable fresh sound.

The repertoire is packed with aural delights – from tight cajón rhythms and skilled acoustic guitar, to a pair of masterly fiddles and three unique voices combined in a way that will stop you in your tracks. Add to this wit, charm, and a ukulele thrown in for good measure, and you have an ingenious musical ensemble playing ‘brilliantly crafted originals’ with a fizz.

“Simply breath-taking - absolutely gorgeous vocals”
- Shrewsbury Folk Festival Review

These close friends draw influence from artists such as Charlie Simpson, Noah & The Whale, John Mayer, Counting Crows, and Lisa Hannigan, and demonstrate intelligent, heart-warming musicianship beyond their years. The unique group they have formed is becoming increasingly popular at festivals and events around the country, whilst their forthcoming album (due for release Spring 2012) is already set to be a gem.

“Sounds great, very inventive”
- Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts

With ‘hauntingly exquisite’ songs, rousing tunes bound to get you dancing and a pinch of The Offbeat’s fresh vitality, this is an unmissable, incomparable act.
