"A common occurrence these past few months has been the sheer magnitude of quality bands I have had the good fortune of stumbling across through one form or another, either through research or recommendations. There have been glorious creations that have touched the soul and mind and kept my love and appreciation of music intact. Its only when you delve a little deeper you really find the hidden the gems, the ones that 9 times out of 10 would be “the one’s that got away”. Fortunately, I had the pleasure of interviewing the band I am talking about and they did not escape my attention. In fact the complete opposite occurred. Through their music, they grabbed me by the balls, gave me a good slap in the face and made me sit up….no, stand up and take notice. The band in question are “A Cold Night For”.
Vocally, Alex is everything you want from your front man. Creative, honest and with real character, he makes the songs so believable it is a joy to listen to each track time and time again. It wouldnt work without a band of musicians who are on the same page musically and creatively, which is why Neil, Ben and Jake are the perfect match. Bring them all together and you have something truly special. An added bonus are the video’s they upload to their page from their oxygen recording session’s. If your fortunate enough to be in the area, check them out at Wolverhampton Varsity on the 29th April. If your not so fortunate, take comfort in knowing there are some stellar tracks waiting for you right now to take a listen to which will keep you ticking over like a finely tuned Roll’s Royce until the opportunity arises to see them live."
