A Los Angeles native, Raz B was a founding member of the popular teen-idolized R&B/Pop phenom, B2K whom he helped name. As an out-of-the-box multi-platinum-selling artist, the early-teen prodigy developed his production craft and business instincts quickly by assisting in the set up for the group’s tour promotion and sell-out concerts. Bouncing #1 R&B with their eponymous debut album, “B2K,” they also went #1 on two charts with their hottest single, “Bump, Bump, Bump.” The triumphant release of B2K’s second blow-out album, “Pandemonium,” and the stunning world tour behind it, catapulted the group to the top of the recording game. To cap it all off, their historic film debut in “You Got Served” boasts over $60,000,000 in receipts worldwide. These iconic commercial ventures garnered them numerous prestigious awards from BET, Nickelodeon, Soul Train, Billboard, American Choreography, and others internationally.

The group rounded out their portfolio with street-hot remix albums and a Christmas CD, calling it a day. Raz B wasted no time going solo, making TV acting appearances, supporting non-profit causes, and attaching to commercial endorsements, while recording yet another hit. His first solo single, “Fire” debuted #2 on Billboard Hot R&B Sales. Now, a new mix-tape CD product is due for release soon. To start it up, Raz B released a viral video through Yahoo and AOL, titled “Thinking About You”, garnering rave comments and over 150K views over an expanding network of web platforms.
Raz B is well known for his community awareness efforts and family-values life vision. Part of his career plan is the release of a compilation record that will convey positive messages and in his own words, “bring families together.” With appreciation and respect for MJ’s “We Are the World”, whom many refer to as our father mold; Raz is ready to present something new with a very similar concept. As Raz B states, “It is time to re-visit the past and sprinkle it with the present. We have incredible artistry and athlete power in the new millennium. 1985 was a great time for stars to shine through one incredible song and make a difference. It’s now time for a new generation of musicians to continue the MJ journey with ‘Heal the World’.”
The “Heal the World” compilation provides an opportunity to give something significant, guidance and mentorship, to today’s youth and help fund local front-line community services and programs everywhere that otherwise may not receive consistent financial and moral support. This project is a grassroots effort to build support, using artists’ and athletes’ celebrity status, in delivering Raz B’s vision to a mass audience. The compilation will feature collaborations with a host of young, evolving super star and many of his close friends, such as Nick Cannon, Jesse McCartney, Chris Brown, Paris Hilton, Mario, 3LW, Raven-Symoné, Lindsay Lohan, Ray J, other members of B2K, and more.
Along with the release of the “Heal the World” project, Raz B has another solo venture in the making. Anticipating the release of his solo album, titled “Raz B: Boy 2 King”, Raz B hopes to bridge cultures through entertainment and create music that speaks from his soul to the souls of many. The video for “Follow My Lead” , the first release single, is nearly ready and will be light the fire for the ”Boy 2 King” CD.
This philanthropic and spirited artist launched his own non-profit foundation via a worldwide youth outreach campaign that included a live performance at the first-ever, international Pop Music Concert staged at the Great Wall of China (http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2004-09/07/content_372259.htm) in September 2004.
