Original Penguin expansion

Perry Ellis Europe is further investing in American retail brand
Original Penguin by Musningswear. The company, which owns or
licenses a portfolio of over two dozen fashion brands, is launching
a new Original Penguin flagship store at Westfield Stratford City,
London.

Over the last decade Original Penguin expanded worldwide, and Perry Ellis is exploring opportunities for future store openings in the UK, and further across Europe. The Original Penguin brand includes mens, womens, footwear, fragrance and accessory collections.

Set up in 1955, Original Penguin is known for retro flair and bloc colours. The Minneapolis-based underwear and military supply company Munsingwear introduced their iconic golf shirt to America. The Penguin on all
shirts is called Pete named by Abbot Pederson, salesman at Munsingwear.

Set over 4000 sq. ft., the new Westfield store is designed by London creative
agency Tonic that used sustainably sourced materials for the backdrop of the
shop. The shop features a 50s cocktail bar and is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright
fixtures. The new shop has all the Original Penguin collections on display.
