‘The Full Monty '
The youngest of five raised by her Mom and born into a family with music at its heart. All her siblings were able to sing especially her oldest brother who was born blind, coupled with natural abilities to also play musical instruments.
From 12 years old she learned to express her vocal abilities singing in the church choir or singing in small groups with other talented singers.
At the age of 20 she moved to London to train as a nurse, then she moved to New York temporarily.
In New York she worked as a receptionist in a hairdresser’s in Harlem which gave her a great opportunity to meet lots of people, including striking up a friendship with another great singer now known as Blu Cantrell. Thus her passion as a singer/songwriter was now birthed.
She soon moved back to the UK and started working on her own material. Drawing her inspirations from life’s journey and writing songs that reflected the different challenges in life. Her life experiences became her lyrics.
Her influences have been predominantly Gospel or other secular artists with similar heritage. So her inspiration is derived from a myriad of artists such as Aretha Franklin, Donnell Jones, Faith Evans, Whitney Houston, Kelly Price, Chantalle Moore and many more.
She have had the privilege of sharing the stage with the likes of Mica Paris, Jocelyn Brown, Lisa Stansfield, Fred Hammond, Marvin Sap to name a few.
Her music is original and cutting edge !
