Terry Emm To Release First Single From Acclaimed ‘Starlight’ EP

Terry Emm To Release First Single From Acclaimed ‘Starlight’ EP

‘Forever and After’, the first single from Bedfordshire singer-songwriter Terry Emm’s third album
‘Starlight’ is a summery slice of English jangly guitar-pop, with a rousing 'seize the day' sentiment.

The song depicts Emm’s youth growing up in the 90’s, listening to Brit-pop. With its Del Amitri / Boo
Radleys-esque bright harmonies and sparkly guitar sound, it sees him looking back into the haze and
naivety of youth, to reminisce about young love and lost summers. The lyrics deal with dreams of success
and letting go; with a confident realisation that it takes less than we think to be what you want to be. At
26, Emm has performed support shows with current Radio 2 buzz act Emma Stevens, as well as having
supported folk favourites The Moulettes and US bluesman Harry Manx - and looks set to taste more of the
success he was dreaming of in youth.

The single will be released Monday 19th
May, in advance of the album ‘Starlight’, to be released on
August 11th. Produced by Michael Clarke (Clarkesville, Andy Burrows), the EP features strings by Calina De
La Mare (Tindersticks, Ray Lamontagne), and is getting excellent reviews within the UK media and
beyond. On the collaborations, Emm says:

“I was a fan of Michael’s band ‘Clarkesville’ when I was younger and their album inspired me a lot with its
mix of uplifting pop rock tracks and singer-songwriter style tracks. Likewise, involving Calina, I had loved
her arrangements on albums I’d listened to when I was young. I wanted to reach back into my youth
musical influences on this new album. The best music from your youth always sticks with you”.

The single ‘Forever and After’ is out on Monday 19th
 May. Watch the video here:
