Harsh.TV Does An Exclusive Interview with the very lovely Wayne Lawrence, lead singer, songwriter and guitarist for my band crossover which we spell XOVA

Q.Tell us about who you are & What you do?
My name is Wayne Lawrence, lead singer, songwriter and guitarist for my band crossover which we spell XOVA. We started out as a covers band playing classic reggae tracks but I saw an opportunity as a writer to play around with the rules of music and it since became categorised as a crossover sound by intertwining various genres with the intention of hopefully creating a ground breaking , never heard before sound which I think we have achieved

Q: Describe your Music in 5 words
THE WORLDS BEST KEPT SECRET

Q.Please give your Fans 3 Fun Facts About you
Our keyboard player Mikey always has to be the last one in the van, even when we stop for food or toilet breaks, he will always be the last one in, James our sax player wears leopard skin thongs and Stuart our trombone player wears both socks on one foot

Q. What makes your Voice Stand Out from other Artists?
I can actually sing and play my own songs live as well

Q. Do you Write Your Own Material?
 yes 100%

Q: What are your Current projects that you are working on?
Strictly XOVA at the moment, in future maybe some side projects but we have 3 albums worth of material recorded already, a film made and a killer live show always being worked on to make us the  best we possibly can be, that's more than enough in it self

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I've always said with the right people behind us we can be as good as anyone, so hopefully in 5 years we will be a headlining and influential known band

Q: Where do you get your inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from the paths I choose to walk down, some right some wrong, I take those experiences and put it on a piece of paper

Q: Who would you rather listen to UK or US Music?
I listen to both but ive got to say that it seems to me everyone is running out of ideas and emulating each other and i cant stand all these collaboration, its all record companies putting people on tracks for there own benefits, it ain't like the old days where the songs actually meant something even if done by Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross for instance, its all bullshit too me, I would only only do it if it was completely relevant to the track and the meaning of the song like we have just done with white Dee from benefit street TV show, its about the message 110%

Q:What Artist do you listen to?
I grew up listening to everything from The Beatles to Ub40, my musical background is endless, influence wise, i love great melodies but also love rocking out, harmonies and hooky lyrics so it would be a very long read to list them all

Q:Who influences your music?
The greatest bands in the world right now, influence our music because we want to be better than them and however good they get, we get a minimum standard to work towards

Q: Please describe your fashion style in 5 words?
 REALLY, SHOUD'VE, PHONED, EACH, OTHER

Q: How can people Contact you & Collaborate with you?
You can get us on direct email
or sites

as for collaborations are concerned we only make exceptions for anyone from Birmingham or they are really Fit....seriously, though, read above and if you feel we are the right band to work with let us know why

Wayne Lawrence XOVA OUT......
