Palace Music Group (PMG or Palace Music) is the globally recorded distribution music company and is controlled by Jefferson Holdings Corporation of America.
PRE-HISTORY
The company, which evolved into Palace Music, was founded in June of 1996. PMG was formed by Kamal Jabbar. The label and its subsidiary labels where developed mainly for the classic soul music, hip hop and R&B genres music outlet. The company had started as an international record company but soon branched into digital distribution in 2008.
The label is a part of (Palace/MPR/Associated) wing of sub labels at Palace Music Group which shares the same national and regional staff as the rest of Palace Music Group’s worldwide digital distribution system.
2009: NEGOTIATIONS
In 2009, Palace Music Group began negotiations with its international digital distribution distributors with the goal of starting its own international digital distribution company.
2011: DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION
On July 1, 2011, Palace Music Group an independent Online digital Distribution Alliance announced their strategic partnership to leverage combined worldwide online retail digital distribution network and technologies to support independent labels and music rights holders.
