Describe who The Academy are?

AudioKing - The Academy is a collective group of Producers, Musicians, Songwriters, Engineers, and Artists.

Is there anyone from the music industry you would like to work with?

Wundermine Beatz - I want to work with whoever is making good music, but if I had to choose someone specific I would probably work with Kanye West. He is constantly reinventing himself, the sound of his music has changed over the years. Personally I like his older material, but I can respect the creativity and risky approach he takes to his newer work. He thinks outside the box.

A.K. - Whoa I can't even put that type of list together it would be a few pages long. But just to name a few, I would say Stevie Wonder, Usher, Drake, I'm a big fan of Marsha Ambrosious, I would love to work with her.

Although you are US based, is there anyone from the UK music scene that you're interested in?

A.K. - Like I said I’m a big fan of Marsha, definitely Adele lol she’s incredible.

W.B. - I wouldn’t consider myself a real fan of pop music but I like Tao Cruz. I like some of Tinie Tempa’s work too. I wasn’t convinced at first, but Adele is nice too. Both of her albums were very good.

What has been the biggest project The Academy were involved in?

W.B. - I would say so far the biggest project we were a part of is ‘You’re Appreciated’ by Newz simply because we did pretty much all of the production on it. It was all original music

A beat tape and a mixtape were released in January. Where do you find the inspiration for the music?

W.B. - I would say my inspiration for music is just life in general. There are so many things that influence my music. But specifically I guess just hearing good music inspires me to want to get better and be more creative in my own work.

A.K. - I Find inspiration from Life as well. You never know when inspiration will hit; you just experience it where ever you are at the time.

The Academy also produced the album 'You're Appreciated' for the US based music artist Newz which was released 14th February. Describe the feel of the album.

W.B. - The feel of the album is geared more towards the female audience being that it was released on Valentine’s Day. However there is a wide variety of tracks on this project, from the club type songs to smoother tracks with an R’n’B feel to them; so there is something on there for everyone to enjoy.

If there was any album from the past or present that you could have produced, which would it have been and why?

A.K. - I would say Michael Jacksons "Thriller" for obvious reasons. Not only is it the highest selling album ever, but it's a complete classic. Every single song is amazingly produced and performed.

What other projects are coming up for The Academy this year?

W.B. - This year we have a couple things in the works. Our Artist Bizirk and Versick are working on a project, which will be mostly produced by us. We don’t really have a date set yet, but it should be completed sometime in April. The Academy Album will most likely be released sometime this summer. We will also be collaborating with various artists out here in the Inland Empire as well. We also have a couple tracks on the highly anticipated War Machine 2 album by Tef Poe an artist based out in St. Louis, Mo.

A.K. - We also have a project coming out with Damo the King from OTP, and our newest artist on The Academy Young Gifted.

W.B. – Don’t know what the ‘Quick Fire, Nothing To Do With Anything’ round is but I’m always down to try new things. I like a challenge.

A.K. - Lol I don't know what that is either but bring it on.

When I was younger I wanted to......................

W.B. - When I was younger I wanted to be like Michael Jordan.

A.K. - Yup lol I wanted to play in the NBA.

Tea or Coffee?

W.B. - I enjoy a cup of coffee every now and again. Tea is cool too though.
A.K. – I’m a tea person. Coffee's alright sometimes.

If you could be any animal for a day, which would you be?

A.K. - Either an eagle, so I could fly, or a great white shark, because nobody wants to mess with a great white lol.

Book or Movie?

A.K. - Books are great. But I watch much more movies then I do read.

W.B. - Nothing wrong with reading a book, but I’d rather watch a movie.
What's your favourite planet?
A.K. - Well I'm going to a say Earth considering I haven't done much space travel yet.

W.B. - My favourite planet is Earth.

W.B. - 5, better to have more than not enough

What's the craziest thing any member from The Academy has done?

A.K. - I won't say any names but someone left a little "gift" on someone’s doorstep and set it on fire lol.

Fast Food or Healthy Food?

W.B. - You should eat right you know, things that will be beneficial and nutritious to your health. But you have to spoil yourself sometimes and get a burger or two or three.
A.K. - Once we get some more placements I'll start eating healthier. For now, fast food lol.
