Harsh.TV Does An Exclusive Interview with The Very Talented Band Grand Central, we talk Inspiration, Influences, Fashion Style & Their Current Music Projects.
A Great Interview
Enjoy!

Q.Tell us about who you are & What you do?

Ryan – I play guitar and work in Cubase a lot. I have a home studio which we call Narnia and while there may not be any fawns, talking beavers or lion deities, there is a wardrobe with coats in it. I spend a lot of time there.
Cade – I sing and co-write with Ryan. I often sit on the sofa and watch Ryan put down our ideas in Cubase. I handle all of the non-musical activities of the band.
Gary – I play drums and keep everyone punctual
Yoshi – I play guitar and keys.
Q: Describe your Music in 5 words

Cade – That is a tough question. To describe ones creative work for anyone is not very easy. I would say if you had to put it in a genre, you would say alternative rock. Ryan and I just write music that we like. We don’t try to be in ,hip or follow the current music trend. If we like it we write it.

Q: What are your Current projects that you are working on?

Cade – We are really busy at the moment. We spent the last year recording and doing our debut album. It is just getting mastered and then we can release it. Just finished doing our new music video which will be out soon. We are currently working on writing new songs, organising tours internationally, probably doing a new music video …

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Ryan - Probably the only place I can see myself at any time. In some kind of reflective surface. Although if I turn around very quickly, I can catch a glimpse of myself, but that faster-than-light manoeuvre is difficult to pull off. Musically, I hope to be in my difficult 3rd album phase.
Cade – Hopefully not having too much trouble on our 3rd album haha. I just hope to be doing music, and happy.

Q: Where do you get your inspiration from?
Ryan - It’s amazing how many ideas come when you’re just walking down to the tube station, listening to the noises around you. Well, you get a lot of ideas like, “I could do with a chocolate bar.” But musical ideas pop in at the oddest moments. Usually not when you chase them

Cade – Music is very personal to me. I listen to songs based on my emotions, so a lot of inspiration comes from feelings I have, and try to be inspired by feelings rather than by thinking what sounds right. A lot of our songs have something odd or might not be the norm. You might say, but it should be like this, and that’s not what we are about.

Q: Who would you rather listen to UK or US Music?
Ryan - I’d have to say British, even though America gave us some of my favourite bands like The Velvet Underground and The Smashing Pumpkins, the seminal bands for me are mostly British. Depeche Mode, The Cure, Suede…well, that actually leaves me straddling the ocean so let’s just say that I have a musical passport which allows me to travel in and out of these territories as my mood takes me.
Cade – The British gave us the bands we grew up wanting to be and love. I love to listen to British music from the 80s/90s but a lot of the music that inspires me is from the US. Although the bands I have always aspired to be have been from the UK (Suede, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Placebo, Duran Duran etc )

Q:What Artist do you listen to?

Ryan - The one formally known as Prince.
Cade – Currently listening to a lot of Mansun, REM and BRMC

Q:Who influences your music?

Cade – I wouldn’t say who influences our music. I don’t think we write about anybody . But I would say situations influences our music. If you try to collect the essence of a situations feelings and emotions, I would say that is what influences our music. I think our music is pretty melancholic so hopefully you will listen to the song and you can connect to it.

Q: Please describe your fashion style in 5 words?

Ryan - Sorry, I do not understand.
Cade - “Rock n Roll Boutique”

Q: How can people Contact you & Collaborate with you?
Ryan -Now that would be telling.
Cade – best to contact us on our website or facebook pages. We always check them :-) www.grandcentraluk.eu or www.facebook.com/grandcentraluk
