The time as come in the many contests that are out there for artists like my self looking for votes. Getting fan votes can be tricky no one wants to beg or be self indulgent when it comes to soliciting votes. There is an art form to this of coursego to friends and family first then fans depending on how big your fan base is ! The music is as important as the solicitation make sure your tracks are banging that should help greatly! Navigating this process can be trying but in this day and age building your fan base is crucial for success!
I am from the old school so this new form of attracting fans is different from the labels building you up from nothing. The onus is on the artist to mount an assault on all these site that are offering rewards for the most fans some are better than others. I have discovered sites that help you build a fan base from youtube to twitter to face book. They call it marketing for social sites they vary in price you must do your home work!
If all else fail beg I 'm not too proud to beg! Beg plead gravel what ever it takes

The end of the year is upon us great things for the New year no resolutions just life missions with no deadlines. Will be off for 2 weeks wishing all of you a Merry Xmas
