Dreams, are they really worth the risk?
Finally managed to catch “The Adventures of TinTin” in the movie theaters the other day. In 3D! It was quite exciting to actually watch a comic character I read as a child come to life on the big screen. But a funny thing, the things we imagine and dream when we are young. We never really know what to expect from them.
Just last week, I was watching a re-run of an Ally McBeal episode where they discussed love; was it really about the feeling of being loved, or really what it should entail which is the company of the right person to spend the rest of your life. And yet sometimes people settle for something less than what they want because they know that they have limited options.
I guess love is not much different from the dreams we seek to achieve. It’s normal to settle for something less when you know you’ll never get the dreams you seek to achieve. But is that really what you want? Would you regret the decision and wish you held out for just a few more moments more? What if the dreams you were seeking were just round the corner and you settled for something lesser? On the flip side, what if you held out, passed on a lesser opportunity and ended up with nothing at all?
Risk and reward. Are the risks we take really worth the reward?
