NYC TOP 10 COLOR:ULTRAVIOLET LILAC

Descending like a cosmic heliotrope, ultraviolet lilac infuses the season with an enlightening glow. It combines with white as with the layered ensemble from Alexander Wang or the airbrushed ombre rubber coat at Prabal Gurung. A floral print from Richard Chai mixes it with aqua blue as does the color-blocked swimsuit from Custo and the tulle layered frock from Rodarte. Color blocking and contrast binding give it a contemporary edge in accessories as the bag from Tommy Hilfiger or the lace up sandals at Prabal Gurung.

NYC TOP 10 PRINT & PATTERN:OPTIMISTIC BOTANIST

There are yards of dresses and full skirts infiltrating the Womenswear rails as a chaste Fifties’ mood permeates the summer look. White, vanilla or tropical background, this is being filled up with saturated floral prints and sketches. Positive and bright, these botanicals embody a Fauvist dynamism that ropes in flora from English country gardens to tropical islands. Though mostly about the skirts and light dresses, consider trousers too, with cropped and printed versions looking fresh.
