Paul Birtwell and Annette Reis form a singer/song writing partnership that has created a unique sound with their excellent musicianship and original compositions. Paul and Annette have played at Band on the Wall in Manchester, Buxton Jazz Fringe Festival, West Fourteen Club formerly The Orange Club in Kensington and many venues in the UK.

Annette Reis
Annette’s musical career began as a classically trained singer who fell in love with the blues genre and formed a blues
group with former husband Victor Brox. She later toured Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Vienna, Berlin and Hamburg with
the Alexis Korner’s ‘New Church’. During this time she also had her own band ’Lots’ which played the Marquee and
Ronnie Scott’s and venues around London. She made T.V and radio appearances and her recording credits include
several albums such as ‘Sweet Pain’,’ Death Sting Me’, ‘Rollin’ Back’ and with Alexis Korner ‘Both Sides’ (‘New Church
and Friends’) and ‘Musically Rich and Famous’.
Among this varied array of musical experiences Annette also recorded a dance track ‘Dream17’ for Mike Pickering
(‘M People’) on the album ‘North’ and sang the role of ‘Maid by the fire’ on the original album’ Jesus Christ Superstar’.
In November 2008 Annette appeared at Trafalgar Studios as one of the cast of ‘Eloquent Protest III’ and went on to
appear in the Nepalese production of this theatre piece at the Khatmandu International Theatre Contest. This production included one of Velvet Landscape’s songs ‘Save the Children’ which was performed as part of the finale.
Paul Birtwell
is a self produced engineered singer songwriter/instrumentalist who has a number of successes as a solo performer. His songs have received airplay on ‘Interplay Radio’, ‘Xepher FM, ‘Digital Sounds Radio’ and ‘N Live Radio’
• In July 2005 Instrumental ‘Freetime’ was released on Cringe Music Publishing’s ‘Universal Themes’ C.D. for the MCPS licensed Production Library. Instrumental ‘Holiday Show’ is included on the next ‘Universal Themes 2’ album, released in
March 2006.
• In August 2005 Paul’s composition ‘Until We Cry’ reached the Semi-finals of the UK Song writing Contest. This track
received airplay for most of 2004 on ‘Matchbox Radio 24’
• In August 2006 Instrumental track ‘Caught In The Crossfire’ and song ‘Until We Cry’ reached the Semi-finals of the UK
Song writing Contest and were included on ‘Matchbox Records’ albums ‘Gigantic’ and ‘One Giant Step’.
Paul's instumental track 'Under Italian Skies' reached the semi finals list of the worldwide 'Song Of The Year' 2011.
