How would you describe your music? Mood music because it’s always about the mood I'm in at that moment in time.
What work or projects are coming up for you this year? Right now I'm working on an EP. It’s still untitled, but should be ready in June sometime and I have a bunch of videos on the way.
Can you give us an exclusive on what it might be called? As of now I'm still unsure...I haven't given it much thought. I've been more focused on the music to fill it with than a title, but as soon as I know, you'll know.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Living it up with my family and friends, just enjoying the fruits of our labour and working with many of the artists I admire.
What do you do when you need some inspiration? Go out with my friends or watch movies. I'm a bit of a movie person…I draw inspiration from the most obscure things.
My favourite movie from last year, which is going to be hard to beat was Inception, did you watch it and what did you think? Yeah I did, it’s a bit too complex to sum it up here, but I loved the idea of dreams within dreams it just made such perfect sense. And, as always Leonardo DiCaprio gave a winning performance.
What career would you want if you weren’t in this industry? Design and photography. I love imagery and art so it would need to be something along those lines, maybe even fashion.
Who are your top 5 musicians at the moment and why?
1) Marvin Gaye because I love his soul.
2) Kanye West for his creativity.
3) Kid Cud, I just love his honesty.
3) Ellie Goulding I love her voice, its unique.
4) Lil Wayne I love his swagger.
5) Myself because of my drive and passion.
Which musician from the past would you have loved to have worked with? Marvin Gaye I love his soul, sometimes I wish I could sing as good as him or at least have his depth.
What's your favourite Marvin Gaye song? Wow that’s a tough one.. hmmmmm. I couldn't answer that and be 100% honest. It just depends on how I'm feeling but it would have to be a throw up between "Love Party" and "Troubled Man".
Who in the industry now would you love to collaborate with? Labrinth… he reminds me of a young Quincy Jones.
UK or US music? Both, I like artists from either side of the pond. And UK music is really picking up and getting diverse.
OK, but if you HAD to choose, UK or US? Right now US but I still love the UK just as much, I guess we just have more choice coming from there right now.
If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? Marvin Gaye - In Our Lifetime, classic.
What 3 items would you take to a deserted island, excluding music and people? Some sort of power generator, my MAC and a large Swiss army knife.
If you were stuck in an elevator, which celebrity would you want to be stuck with? Karl Lagerfeld.
If we listened to your iPod, what would be on the recently played menu? Drake, Lil Wayne, Stephen Marley, Marvin Gaye, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Monocle weekly podcast and John Mayer.
How can we follow you and your work? You can go to my website officialTHAiLiFE.com or follow me on twitter, @THAiLiFE.
OK, now we’re done with questions on your career, can you handle my ‘Quick Fire, Nothing To Do With Anything’ round?
Sure thing, shoot
Whose your favourite ever cartoon character? Ren, from Ren and Stimpy.
Bananas or chairs? Errrmm bananas.
Would you rather play the hero or villain? I’m the anti hero.
Upstairs or downstairs? Upstairs.
You never leave the house without? My keys, mobile and wallet.
Cinema or DVD? DVD.
If you had an elephant, what would you name it? Dumbo, it’s a given.
Can you say the alphabet backwards? Yeah, probably but with great concentration.
Thank you!
Anytime, you're very welcome.
