Lets Us Introduce you to Stefan Halliday

short paragraph about yourself, who you are?

I’m Stefan Halliday, I am Creative Entrepreneur and the Company Director of the “House of, blak” and the subsidiary labels under it. Originally from Birmingham, UK lived in London for four years, and have recently moved back up to Birmingham, and have opened a new studio in the new Zellig building in the City Centre.

What made you want to be a web designer?

I always had a background in free-hand illustration and graphic Design. So I can’t really say there’s one thing that made me want to get into it, It probably became my professional career more accidentally down to me utilising the limited skills I was born with.

How did you get into web design?

Worked in retail after leaving University, got the opportunity to work with a fashion stylists on music videos, magazine and editorial shoots. I interned at some fashion companies but I wasn’t getting paid. so I went back to my grass roots and started freelancing doing websites on the side and then developed the concept and started doing smart phone applications corporate branding and more. And then was pushed to become professional and create a real identity and brand that could grow and become recognised for what I do.

The future for “blak” & the “House of Blak“?

As the company has grown so quickly and due to the hugely varied clients needs. I want to be able to expand in our market area and provide services across all creative sectors so clients can have a complete package solution from one company. In the next five to ten years my plans for the company are to open more studios globally in some of the worlds key cities like New York and Tokyo.

your latest project?

Our latest project, we are currently working on a new capsule website for Comedy Central on a new series they will be launching early next year, Also working on a web and brand re-design for Jewel Heritage Fashion label & Heretics, London. We have also just finished the web re-design for Japanese fashion label Oscar & Jesus. As the company has global growth plans and needed a new site for their English consumers across the world.
