James Monk introduces you to -Ronin

Ronin are Kit Kinrade, Jake Howarth, Loz Crame and Dave Whittaker . based in worcester Ronin are a original rock band with influences from Muse, Jeff Buckley, SRV and more. Descended from pirates and smugglers and born deaf, the three years Kit has been living in Worcester mark the longest he’s stayed anywhere.Kits life so far reads a strange tale of challenges, cage fighting, being on the wrong end of attempted murder and forgetting how to play violin; the long version will as Dave would say ‘will be saved for the book’ Loz Started to play guitar at the age of 11. As he had been surrounded by guitars from birth, this was the instrument that Loz found himself drawn to the most.Loz gained stage experience playing with various bands including the Midnight Movers and Hard Shoulder he also participated in many a Jam night, getting plenty of experience of many music styles. After a few years searching for a group of people with similar interest and drive Loz met Kit through a University course in Worcester and the foundation for Ronin was set. Dave’s story begins in Bromyard, Dave decided to have a go at becoming a musician aged 12 and opting for the bass seeing as his older brother picked up the guitar a few years previously. The next few years were a very typical tale of school work suffering here and there ‘cos all he wanted to do was play, and who wouldn’t, school’s crap as we all know. After Dave finished school he got settled into a local blues band called Smokestack who’d been searching for a bass player for three years. Smokestack went on to write songs and play all over the local Hereford and Worcester scene for the better part of four years. After a while Dave felt he needed a change of scenery and moved on to join Ronin in the early months of 2011 after advertising himself as a free musician, and having seen Ronin perform at a local open mic night Dave got chatting to the band and was offered the position, as Ronin’s current bassist was only temping as a favour. ake is a man of very few words, none of us really know his history as he just wont tell us. We did however manage to make a nice list of his equipment. http://www.facebook.com/RoninMusicUk www.myspace.com/roninmusicuk http://roninmusicuk.com/
