Exclusive Interview with the Very Talented Jargon

Linda Sam Does An Exclusive Interview with the Very Talented Jargon, we talk how music first became a passion of his, why he was bumping MA$E while everyone else was listening to Wu Tang and where does he get his inspiration from. A great read, one not to be missed! Enjoy

What made you want to be a singer?

I found my calling in music when I decided to join a the 2001 Chicago MC Release Battle- a 2 day event where rappers squared off head-2-head to find the best rapper in the Midwest. Funny thing is, I was so young I had to sneak in with a fake ID. It wasn’t even a good fake either, I was wearing a bandana and a hat in the cheesiest looking Korean drivers license you’d ever seen, but being a hip hop event, the security guard at the door didn’t care much. I ended up winning the whole thing. This got my name out pretty quick in the underground hip hop scene. But being from Chicago it is a hard place to make it. It’s not like New York or Atlanta where you have a record company in every other building downtown. After earning my stripes in the battle scene, I then ventured in to song-writing and live performances where I found an even bigger calling. I’m now 80+ records in, and have an arsenal of music to release to the world. I used to let my competition inspire me to do music, but now it’s all about the fans. They never let me down and I promise to do the same.

Who inspired you?

Oddly enough, when everyone was listening to Wu Tang, I was bumping Ma$e. Yup that same guy that danced around stage with Puff Daddy that patented the “slow flow”.

What type of music are you into?

I still like the slower music- I like Fabolous, Wayne, Drake, Tity Boi, of course – Eminem, 50 Cent who is a genius by the way. Kanye West and Lupe are definitely 2 favorites. Oh and newly acquired- Big Sean, he’s definitely a fresh sound right now.

Where do you want to be in 5 years?

In a deluxe apartment in the skkkkyyyyyyyy!! Jk, in 5 years I really hope to see myself landing some acting gigs. I love music, but my passion is entertainment as a whole. I used a lot of jokes and punch lines in battle rapping, I hope it can one day open up some doors for me to begin an acting career.

what are your favorite places to hang out?

I like going to live theater. I watched the Jabbawockeez at the Mirage when I was in Vegas earlier this month, they are great! Jersey Boys was also really entertaining. I also like going to football and basketball games.
