Exclusive Interview with the Beautiful Blessing Boyega

Nitasha Dhariwal does an Exclusive Interview with the Beautiful Blessing Boyega who is an up and coming model she is also studying for an MA in Music Industry Management to be able to work in the music industry, managing various departments. She began her career by modelling for training makeup artists which led her to beauty photo shoots and fashion shows such as, the IFE Fashion show for International Women’s Day and the Pretty Urban charity show. Exposure has been non-stop for this dedicated young woman and nothing will get in her way to reach the top. Here’s the interview.

What projects or work are coming up for you this year?

Some of the projects I have coming up include High Fashion, hair and beauty photo shoots. I also will be modelling for a designer at the FDC Young Designer Show this Saturday (26th). Have a few shows coming up later in the year dates are yet to be confirmed.

What has been your best experience in the industry so far?

Being chosen to wear the loveliest designs by lovely designers, such as Sophia Brown London and Concreterose clothing.

What has been your most embarrassing moment in the industry?

I personally haven’t had one yet, and hope I don’t.

What did you want to be before you became a model?

I wanted to be an accountant, which I studied for in my first year at university. Ended up not liking it and changed my course to financial services, thought I would use that to work in the bank or financial sector but my heart has always been for the entertainment industry, so I chose to follow my dreams.

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?

Successful in both the modelling and music industry, being recognised as one of the hard working inspirational ladies out there and would have experienced both industries in different countries.

What advice would you give someone wanting to break into the modelling industry?

You need to have confidence in yourself! Those who don’t allow rejections to get to them and they give up easily. And also consistency! Be consistent in what you deliver, go to your castings, let people see your improvements and learn from others. Practice makes perfect.

Which model, from the past or present would you like to work with?

Would have loved to have worked with Twiggy, and in the future with Chanel Iman, think she’s a beautiful model.

Which models career would you like to simulate and why?

It would have to be Twiggy and Tyra Banks, they both had something different about them which they used in their careers making people love them. Twiggy wasn’t tall enough to be a model but she used the way she looked, just like Tyra did and got people to love them without changing much about themselves.

Are you inspired by fashion/music and if so, who in the industry?

I love Zac Posen designs; he designs the most amazing dresses ever. And also Vera Wang she also has some amazing work.

If you could model for one fashion designer, who would it be and why?

Zac Posen! Love his designs and he seems like a nice genuine guy to work with.

If you could be in any musicians music video, who would it be and why?

I always thought about working behind the scenes and one person I would love to work with would be ”Darkchild” Rodney Jerkins. He is a well known music producer in the game, love the music he produces.

Who are your top 5 fashion designers/ music artists right now?

Zac Posen, Alexander Wang, Ralph Lauren and music wise would have to be Marvin Sapp, Deitrick Haddon, Musiq Soulchild, and Donell Jones....this was hard, have tooooo many.

Which 3 items of clothing are a must have for a fashionista?

As spring is here and summer is round the corner, I’ll say a pair of sunglasses, floral print dress, and Gladiator sandals or for those who love to add a bit of height, Suede platform wedges!

How can we follow you and your work e.g. Blog, website, social networking site?
