Highway Records Ltd.

Established in 2006, Highway Records commenced with the understanding that Trinidad is rich in musical talent and that this talent must be exported. This natural talent manifests itself across a gamut of musical genres, be it, Calypso, Soca, Chutney, Reggae/Dancehall, Hip Hop, et al.

Highway Records began as a “strictly local” music, DVD and clothing store and is now an internationally recognized, Trinidad based, Record Label & Publishing Company. How did Highway Records achieve so much in so little time? HARD WORK!

Notable Accomplishments:
  • Highway Records Store opened in April, 2007
  • Highway Records signs “Chromatics” to the label
  • Release of Chromatics debut album “Against The Grain” with hit singles “Basement Party”, “Clarity” and “Start It”
  • Highway Records Studio opened in October, 2007
  • Highway Records Hip Hop radio program “The Grind” was carried for two seasons on 99.1fm (2008 – 2009)
  • Heineken
  • I AM HIP-HOP 1 through 5
  • Release of Chromatics sophomore project “The Science of Colors” in France and was among Lil Wayne & Drake in the Top 8 downloads on datpiff.com
  • Highway Records signs “Lil Saint”, “John John”, “Kane” and “Andrew Prescod” to the label
  • Release of Lil Saint debut album “Split Personalities” with hit singles “Hit Maker” and “Best Thing”
  • Release of Chromatics third project “The Business of Art” with hit singles “Puppet”, “Rumors” and “The Grind”
  • Highway Records was at the fore front in the struggle for artist intellectual property rights in 2009
  • Highway Records hosted the world famous AND1 Street Ball team for an All Star weekend of fun on the 18th & 19th Dec, 2010.
  • Highway Records also hosted Huston based, Gold Record Certified artist Papa Reu in December, 2010 for an event called “Get Krushed”
  • Highway Records is currently the consultant for Trinidad’s # 1 Hip Hop E-Magazine “GMOZ”
