(see download links below) TRENDTRACKER APP STREET STYLE TRENDS IN THE PAST WEEK WE HAVE FEATURED STREET STYLE LOOKS FROM TREND INNOVATORS WEARING THEIR FABULOUS VINTAGE INSPIRED SUMMER ENSAMBLES IN LONDON. If you don't see the pics below, add us to your safe senders list by right-clicking one of the images. PRADA REMASTERED Prada's Spring 2011 look was all intelligent color clashes and vintage infused accessories, creating the look of an early twentieth century cruising gal. That's precisely what informs this vintage remastering from the muted color clashing to the set hairwave, and the rounded shades. With a touch of Twenties' boom but a whole load of the prim Forties, this update takes in added detailing from the scalloped hem to the self-belt on the top, while the doctor's bag and tan flats look like life-lasting accessories. So put away the ration book!
PIMMS O'CLOCK As neat as a freshly pruned rose, this fashionista's strawberries 'n' cream combo is the perfect fare for a summer garden party in England. She's even wielding a Pimms, for Blighty's sake! Yet she is far from the rural expanses of the Home Counties, and this urban dweller's picnic is taking place in a sea of concrete, highlighting the complete elision between the wardrobes of town and country and likewise the continuing breakdown between the now and the then. Her lace hems and wide brimmed straw (berry) hat could easily signal her as an Empire wife, frolicking far from the homeland, yet distinctive updates in the form of oversized sunglasses and - yes - that wrist tattoo bring her slap up to date with an English Riviera note. History and geography, you have been utterly subjugated by fashion.
ROCKABILLY REBEL Sophisticated and alternative, the Fifties rockabilly look has always been a compendium of preserved workwear detailing so it is little surprise to see it is motivating stylish men nowadays. Yet it is at its best when deviating just a little from the most obvious expressions. Here instead of the creepers you expect him to be shod in, there are mahogany soled wingtips. From there on, the pink socks, raw denim and Jailhouse Rock issue chambray are a little more standard, even if the fit is updated. Topped off with a neat Elvis coif, this chap is ready to roll. The belt buckle though, is more utilitarian than musical and the unbuttoning is a Seventies reference. |
