Despite releasing an album just last month, Kelly Rowland already is in talks about releasing a follow-up to her third studio album, Here I Am.

As not much of a surprised, Kelly will reteam with hitmaker Rico Love, who was responsible for penning her #1 platinum-selling single,“Motivation,” to create “classic, timeless R&B sound” with the former Destiny’s Child starlet. He gives us a little insight into what’s going on with the new project.

“I’m starting Kelly’s new album soon,” reveals Love, exclusively to Rap-Up. “While she’s on tour, I’m gonna be writing records for her new album. We can kinda roll that out and drop her new single in late spring. Excited about that.”

Here I Am debuted at #3 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart, and #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart, with 77,000 copies sold in the first week. To date, it is Rowland’s highest debuting and charting album in the United States. “Motivation” has spent several weeks topping the charts as well, making it Kelly’s most successful solo single.

“It feels like a long time coming,” says Love.

“I started her album two-and-a-half years ago, so to be able to get here and see as much success as we’ve seen on this record and album so far is amazing. You put in hard work and it pays off. It sounds cliché, but it’s always good to have that success, especially when people doubted it.”

Kelly Rowland will start touring with Chris Brown on his F.A.M.E. tour in September. What do you guys think about Kelly prepping a new album so quickly?
