Meet The Half Crown With James!

Half Crown

Half Crown has a unique upbeat style of new Indie mixed with a good helping of Funk and garnished with some rap.

We're based in West Sussex and we've been going since late 2009. Over this time, We've been writing original tunes, bettering them, recording them and playing them.

We've been received well by audiences, and have been reviewed by Mint south (they cover the up and coming music scene in the south of England), when we supported Mean Pappa Lean at the Brighton Dome;

"The band were young, tight and confident. Rapper Louie Syred perfectly complemented their sound, jumping on to the stage halfway through the performance and firing impossibly fast lyrics over the intricate funky rhythms provided by the band. The band kept the pace up throughout the gig showing altogether impressive musicianship, and there was a mad dash at the end of their performance to where 50 free EP's lay in wait."

"Their funky sound is new and refreshing; something that hasn't been done (for a long time) and hopefully Half Crown will be the pioneers of Indie-Funk music."

So far Half Crown has played at local gigs such as Odyssey Big Bang Theory (Nick Cave's favourite band), Adur's Got Talent, The Brighton Dome, Steyning Live lounge, Live & Unsigned UK and a few charity fund-raisers.
