Elizabeth Taylor – 1932-2011
The sliver-screen goddess dame Elizabeth Taylor was a true glamour icon. I would like to pay a tribute to the ‘most beautiful women in the world’.
“I never planned to acquire a lot of jewels or husbands” Elizabeth had said. But she did collect plenty of both in her sixty year career.

“I never planned to acquire a lot of jewels or husbands” Elizabeth had said. But she did collect plenty of both in her sixty year career.
From her break in ‘Lassie come home’ to her iconic role in ‘Cleopatra’, where she met the love of her life, Richard Burton (she married him twice). Her name was synonymous with gems, a passionate love life and outrageous on-set behaviour. But Elizabeth was more than just the sum of her beauty and eight marriages. She was a two time Oscar-winning actress; she conquered the stage and screen, and continued acting well into her 70s. She was also one of the first to raise awareness of Aids. Her death on March 23, of a heart failure, spelled the loss of one of Hollywood’s brightest talents, but her legend and style influence will always live on.
Iconic Style: Plunging necklines and plenty of sparkles was a Taylor wardrobe staple throughout her life.
Her signature look: Violet-eyed, Elizabeth (who was born with a double set of eyelashes) perfected her look early on; cropped curls, bold lipstick and strong, arched eyebrows.
The jewels: Taylor’s jewellery collection is legendary, with many of her best know pieces gifts from Richard Burton, including Taj Mahal diamond and 69.42 carat ‘Taylor Burton’ diamond.
The statement headgear: A true style original, Taylor was famous for her embellished headgear: turbans, scarves and jewels and flowers worn in the hair.
