NEWS: R&B SINGER VESTA WILLIAMS HAS DIED AT 53

Vesta Williams, who scored a number of hits on the R&B charts in the mid-1980s and early 1990s, was found dead in a Los Angeles hotel room on Thursday, Sept. 22. She was 53.

Perhaps best known for her Hot 100 single “Congratulations”, Vesta also had a recurring role on Sister Sisteras Monica, Lisa’s best friend.

Details surrounding the singer’s death remain limited at this time, but Vesta performed at last weekend’s Autumn Jazz Explosion in Portsmouth, Va. Performance video of “Congratulations” is below.
