Ready to bring a new flavor to the world of hip hop, Clyde Black and D. Steele are set to hit the industry hard. Starting out as a solo hip hop artists creating underground music, the two decided to work together to combine their amazing production skills and lyrical abilities.

Black, a Bronx and Harlem resident, honed his craft over the years working with various local talent and found success working with a rap group named S.L.A.M. who opened up a show for Ms. Jones. A few years later, Black linked up with local producer and engineer, Lord Itill. Perfecting his skills over time as a solo artist in Itill’s studio, Black was featured on tracks with underground artists such as Lady Mahogany, Silky and Reservoir Dogs. It was at this very same studio that Black happened to have a chance meeting with D. Steele.

Following in the footsteps of legendary MC Freeze and MC Sundance who hailed from the Soundview Projects in the Bronx, D. Steele started out writing rhymes and beat boxing. Never one to shy away from an opportunity, Steele got his first in-studio experience rhyming with the original Jazzy J and Mr. Freeze. In addition to doing rhymes, Steele learned how to produce, gaining local recognition. Later Steele was afforded the opportunity to do A&R for independent label, Radical Records, building up his own network of good connections. Some time later after moving on from Radical Records, he went on to produce for several underground groups performing for many of these same artists. His own underground classic “Bronx Encore” hit the number one spot on the S.U.R.E. Record Pool. Steele did much of his work in the same studio that Clyde Black used. It was here that Clyde heard Steele's work and he knew immediately that they had to work together. After hearing each other’s work, Black-Steele was born.

The collaboration of Black-Steele lead to the single “I Got Ya” and Get Back. Look for the release of "The Hate Album That I Know You Gonna Love" in the 4th quarter of 2011 or early 2012
