Film Review: Inbetweeners Movie.
BEWARE! This is definitely NOT a film to see with your Mum and Dad!
So the question is, can the Inbetweeners successfully make it from the small screen to the cinema?
The answer: Yes!
It has been referred to as 'British Pie,' and if you have had the pleasure of seeing this masterpiece, you'll understand where this name has come from.
If I had to descibe it in a few words, I'd say it's somewhat similar to The Hangover, but of course, us Brits are a little more extreme when it comes to our drinking holidays, and the film shows this off perfectly.
If you haven't seen the series on E4, then you're missing out, but I would advise watching a few episodes before you go the cinema, as you might otherwise not expect the filthy antics and dirty one-liners.
The film is written very well, and isn't a let down at all for those who have watched the series. Of course, the goal of 'getting laid' occupies the storyline, but the mission is intensified as the boys head out on their first lad's holiday.
The characters remain the same as they were in the series, with the same hilarious qualities, which are nice and familiar for fans of the series. It becomes almost second nature to expect the characters to do what they do best, and that is topull girls, get drunk, and then wake up and do it all again.
The film has a few gag-reflex moments, which had the audience at the cinema I was in creased over laughing, and even sighing with horror at some really vile moments. The brilliant thing about the film was how involved the audience were, and at the end, it felt like you should definitely be clapping, although I refrained, as I would probably look a bit weird!
Some scenes will have you literally crying with laughter, and I've got to say, that's what I love about The Inbetweeners gang.
I have to say, this film is a must-see. The tagline tells us that 'the boys will become men,' and this definitely wasn't the case, as they had a glimpse of the real world, but still are school boys at heart. Let's hope that there is another film to follow, as it was just too brilliantly good to be a one off!
