Linda Sam Does An Exclusive Interview with the Extremely Talented ONFIRE ENT who are a rap/hip-hop group from Seattle, WA comprised of 2 rappers (Loe and L-Dubs) with an extended family that includes R&B sensation Rocky Sandoval and the highly versatile Chicago emcee Jargon. Over the past year ONFIRE has gained a strong local buzz and larger national following through the broadcast of their remix videos on YouTube, garnering over 900,000 video views to-date in little over a year. ONFIRE plans to capitalize on these views and new fans through the release of 3 projects this winter. The first project, Sex Drugs Rap and Soul is a joint project with Rocky Sandoval and will comprise of 10 new original tracks and 15 remixes. Following SDRS is Dark November, a thematic album dropping on Black Friday. Finally, ONFIRE's first official album, Red White and Black, will be dropping on January 1, 2012. What made you want to be a singer?
LOERIDER: Well if I could sing id be singer but I cant so I stuck rap! haha. But on a serious "note", Hip-Hop has been a part of my life since I was young. I went through almost every phase - Breaking, DJ-ing, Graphing, and now Rap.
L-DUB: Music is a great way for me to channel my thoughts and emotions into a work of art. The fact that people are embracing the art and listening to our music now is a blessing.
Who inspired you?
LOERIDER: Tons of people inspire me but my musical influences are Mitchy Slick, The Game, Lil Wayne, Juelz Santana, and Tupac. (See a trend?) And of course the top 3: Jay-Z, Kanye, Eminem. As of lately though, I find inspiration after listening to Wiz Khalifia, Mac Miller, Drake, Slaughterhouse, and Wale.
L-DUB: Much like Loe, my main influences come from rap music and include Jay-Z, Kanye West, Eminem, Ice Cube, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Notorious B.I.G., Big L, 2Pac, Big Punisher among others... modern rap influences and inspiration come from Drake and J.Cole.
What type of music are you into?
LOERIDER: Of course Rap and R&B! But I do get down to some Weezer and Green Day!!
L-DUB: I'm a big fan of hip-hop of course, all kinds of rap (boom-bap, underground, commercial). I'm also a big avid listener of pop and Top 40 radio (Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are two of my favorites, I probably shouldn't say that... oh wait... I just did) and also alternative rock.
Where do you want to be in 5 years?
LOERIDER: Good question, honestly the ultimate goal for me is to have me and my team a household name worldwide.
L-DUB: I agree with Loe. I also wouldn't mind becoming a songwriter for other artists in addition to that
What are your favourite places to hang out?
LOERIDER: Vegas. hahahaha or my hometown San Diego (Daygo)
L-DUB: There's nowhere that L-Dub loves more than Vegas! If you guys ever make it out to Seattle though, you can probably catch us at Volume, PNK and Citrus.
Online unsigned radio stations, if any that have played your music?
L-DUB: Not sure but I do hear tons of people here us on their favorite streaming radio stations. Haven't heard any personally though....

L-DUB: I used to do plenty of open mic night's during the beginning of my career. Now with our schedule, I haven't had the opportunity to fit them in, but am more than open to doing one with the group!
