90-year-old Gucci opens museum

Luxury label Gucci is about to open the doors of a
museum in its hometown Florence. On display will be Gucci collector’s items and the 90-year-old history of the Italian fashion
house, including the Gucci bamboo bag, and the
Cadillac by Aldo Gucci, son of founder Guccio Gucci.

Located in the medieval palazzo on the Piazza della
Signoria, the Gucci Museo features 1.700 m2 and is
set over three floors. Creative Director Frida Giannini
especially created bags, jewellery, and accessories
for the Icon Store of the Museum.

The Gucci museum is open for the public from October 5th. Fifty percent of the
entrance revenue will be invested in restoration of historical monuments in
Florence.
